This is my Year 13 Personal Investigation, diving into the process of an album rollout and creating promotional artworks to be used as advertising from the first post all the way up to the release. I chose to do this investigation on the album Yandhi by Kanye West, an album that was scheduled to be released in 2018 but due to legal reasons was never made public, only being heard through various leaks.
I was heavily inspired by Stanley Donwood, Barbara Kruger, and Takashi Murakami, the last of which had already collaborated with Kanye to create the artwork for his 2007 album Graduation.
Additionally I set myself the challenge of doing this project entirely digitally, and with 2/3 of my artist inspirations being traditional, this posed a unique challenge.
